Jericka Duncan

Jericka joined KYW and The CW Philly as a general assignment reporter in August, 2010. Before moving to Philadelphia, Jericka was a reporter for WIVB-TV, the CBS station in Buffalo where she had been on-air since August, 2007. Previously, she was an anchor/reporter for WETM, the NBC station in Elmira, New York from 2005 until 2007. A second generation broadcaster, Jericka grew up in newsrooms shadowing her father, Ronnie Duncan, a popular sports anchor currently with WAAY in Huntsville, Alabama.
She is a 2005 graduate of Ohio University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications while on athletic scholarship there. A standout track and field star in high school and college, Jericka set several state and college records including the school record for the 100 meter hurdles (which still stands!). In her senior year at college, Jericka was awarded an NAACP Image Award for her academic and athletic achievements. She has racked up honors during her time in the industry as well, including a New York State Broadcasters Association Award for Best Spot News Coverage in 2007 and a local Emmy Award in the Best Morning Show category for her winter storm coverage in 2008.
Jericka is tenacious, competitive and aggressive and fights to get to the heart of every story. She excels on breaking news and under tough deadlines, often fronting stories in several shows each day. Simply put, Jericka is an incredibly hard worker who eats, sleeps and breathes news. A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Duncan now resides in the Overbrook section of Philadelphia.
