A former head coach at Iona and Providence, Tim Welsh has spent the past two seasons as a college basketball and NBA game and studio analyst for ESPN, SportsNet NY (SNY), and Comcast SportsNet New England. Before his broadcasting career got started, Welsh was successful wherever he coached. During his three-year stint at Iona, Welsh led the Gaels to a 70-22 overall record, including a 36-10 mark in the MAAC. In his three seasons the Gaels went to one NCAA Tournament and received a pair of NIT invites. Welsh moved on to Providence for a 10-year run beginning with the 1998-99 season and led the Friars to an overall 145-126 mark with two NCAA Tournament appearances and a trio of NITs.
